Maintaining your furnace heat exchanger

Heat exchangers are devices used for the transfer of heat from one medium to another. A furnace heat exchanger is crucial in the efficient operation of your outdoor wood furnace. Outdoor wood furnaces are some of the best outdoor home heating methods and they are used for various purposes such as providing domestic hot water that circulates heat through the heat exchanger and also melts ice from your driveways and sidewalks.

The maintenance of your outdoor wood furnace heat exchanger is much easier than for indoor furnace heat exchangers. Though most heat exchangers provide years of dependable and efficient service, an annual checkup on the condition of the heat exchanger is recommended. This should be done by a certified specialist who has sufficient knowledge about the operating specifications of your heat exchanger unit.

Hi all,

A heat exchanger in a furnace is the part of the furnace that transfers the heat from one medium to another. In some furnaces, heated water on one side of the heat exchanger is transferred into steam heat by the heat exchanger, and then delivered to the room or building to keep the air warm. Thanks a lot......
